Jackson EMC Vice President Dwayne Ansley

From Co-op Student to Vice President

Dwayne Ansley shares his story

In 1983 Dwayne Ansley was looking for an opportunity to learn at an electric cooperative and Jackson EMC was hiring. An engineering student at the University of Georgia, Dwayne applied to the program through the university engineering program.

“From my first day as a co-op student until today, I have always had people at Jackson EMC willing to spend time sharing their knowledge and experience with me,” he said.

Among his favorite memories as a student working at Jackson EMC were the opportunities he had to spend time with co-workers.

“I always looked forward to lunch in the Lineman’s room listening to the stories and playing Setback. (A card game similar to rook),” he said. “I learned a lot at that card table.”

Ansley moved through the ranks at Jackson EMC and now serves as the Vice President for Operations Support Services. The advice he has for any students considering a position at Jackson EMC: “Do it.”
